Text-to-Speech - Read&Write 10 GOLD's text-to-speech features offer a simple and accurate way to read any text. Users can listen to text being read aloud in MS Word documents, emails, webpages or PDF documents with word highlighting to help with word recognition. New voices now available include Sangeeta and Serena.

Picture Dictionary - Read&Write 10 GOLD now provides a picture dictionary to illustrate words with pictures. This feature is a valuable comprehension aid.

Screen Masking - Visual impairments commonly associated with dyslexia can be aided by coloured acetates or tinting. Read&Write 10 GOLD has unique screen tinting options to suit all users. Screen masking, the ability to block out any text not being read, is also available as a valuable tracking aid.

Verb Checker icon - Read&Write 10 GOLD’s verb checker helps users to determine the correct verb conjugation they require. They can select from the past, present or future tenses of each verb. This feature improves the accuracy of written text.

Spell Checker icon - Read&Write 10’s spell checker will correct even more spelling mistakes than before. Corrections are based on user’s own spelling patterns and are supported by dictionary definitions of the suggested corrections which can be read aloud.

Sounds Like icon - This feature identifies words that sound the same but are spelt differently, such as ‘dear’ and ‘deer’ or words that are commonly confused, such as ‘through’ and ‘thorough’. The ‘Sounds Like’ feature lists possible alternatives with audible definitions and sample sentences to make proof reading easier.

This licence option is available only to Primary Schools (Years K/1 to 7). It is not available to schools providing secondary schooling (Years 8 to 12). The purchaser may install as many or as few single user or network copies of the software within the physical confines of the purchaser’s Primary School campus. This option does not allow for sharing of the licence across schools.

The licence also covers installation of the software on laptops owned by the school. If students log in offsite to access the school server and all software licensed to the school, this licence also allows students to access the program under this arrangement. However, if installation is required on laptops owned by students for use as standalone machines not logging into the school server, a School and Home Site Licence will need to be purchased.

This licence option is available only to schools offering secondary schooling (Years 8 to 12) or providing a combination of primary and secondary schooling (Years K/1 to 12). The purchaser may install as many or as few single user or network copies of the software within the physical confines of the purchaser’s Secondary School or K-12 School campuses. This option does not allow for sharing of the licence across schools.

The purchaser may install an unlimited number of copies of the software within any campus, and on any computer or laptop used by the staff and students (provided that the Institute is responsible for the administration of the Licence and removal of the Texthelp Systems Ltd program on cessation of each user’s attendance and/or employment at the Institute).

The network version enables the software to be placed on a network and any other stand alone machine on the site. This allows all users on the site access the software. Each individual can save their own settings and defaults, and gain access to these on any computer on the site. This also allows tutors to assess how individual students are progressing.
